About Prouse Swim School

why us?

At Prouse Swim School we offer small class numbers allowing us to provide a personalised service. We love seeing our children progress through the levels and become not only confident swimmers but also confident children. Learning to swim is a life skill and it builds so much confidence is all aspects of a child’s life.  Swimming lessons can assist with listening skills, turn taking and fine motor skills.

Owner Kerryn Prouse has a passion for teaching baby swimming, we encourage parents to start swimming lessons from 4 months of age. We offer an Aqua Bubs class which is a class designed from babies from 6 weeks of age and this is an exercise class for mum as well as an introduction to water for the babies.

our history

Prouse Swim School was originally opened in November 2014 by Jed and Becky Prouse during a gap year between finishing Year 12 and university. Jed and Becky were both experienced swim teachers, having taught swimming as an after-school job, so they created a Facebook page and advertised swimming lessons from their home pool on Golf Course Road. Numbers grew quickly and in 2016 a heat pump and enclosure was added to our pool so we could run lessons all year round. This allows for lessons in an outside pool when the weather is nice or an indoor pool when the weather is cold.

Both Jed and Becky now have careers away from swimming and their mum Kerryn has taken over the running of the swim school. Kerryn is a fully qualified teacher in swimming and water safety and is also a qualified infant and pre-school teacher. Prouse Swim School also employs an additional 20 staff members who are either Austswim or Swim Australia qualified teachers.
